mandscfan As someone who does not typically listen to instrumental music in this genre, I have to say that Deepsea Magpie by DreaMeter totally won me over! The music is cohesive and imaginative and puts you in a state of calm focus. Deepsea Magpie is a perfect soundtrack for everything from a boring day at the office to a long drive, or an evening in on a rainy day. The beautiful album artwork is great visual representation of the vibe. Definitely looking forward to more music from DreaMeter! Favorite track: Tipping the Hourglass.

about

Once upon a time, there was a magpie who lived in a pine forest near the sea. It lived out its life in peace, collecting food and trinkets -- colorful berries, other birds' tail feathers, a particularly pointy pinecone -- to decorate its bushel-basket nest. One evening, when scouring the neighborhood, the magpie came across something different. In a small grotto where light shone through the opening of the canopy, the last light of the day reflected a twinkle into the magpie's eyes. Something shiny was poking through the forest bed. The magpie swooped down to inspect its new prize. Upon uncovering the object, the magpie was shocked to see that it was made of a material thus unknown. Light would pass through and seem to bend through its strange shape. The object was wide on two ends and narrow in the middle. There seemed to be little grains of rock, or sand, inside. When the magpie tipped the object, the sand attempted to go to the other side, but became blocked up in the center. Oh, and now there was a shell... a small seashell inside, previously hidden. The magpie had seen sea shells before on the shore near the forest but had been too nervous to grab them, for there were crabs and gulls prowling. Now, however... the magpie was filled with a sense of wonder that permeated its very being and overrode its fear. It wrapped the mysterious object with twine and carried it back to its nest. Contemplating the object and the shell, the magpie could not stop thinking of adventure. It had a new goal: explore the sea. Who knows what treasures could await.
